Yesterday morning I dropped my 4th and 6th grader off for their 1st day back, with of course some definite grumbling in the car the ENTIRE 1.25 miles to school! It doesn't matter that they've been on campus at least 3 nights a week for the last 3 weeks for football practice. That's "different."
With practice happening in the Chicago August heat, water bottles are a must. And like many families, we have a random collection of various brands and sizes that we've accumulated over time. One thing I've learned, I'm not a fan of water bottles that leak--like the one that did in my bag the other day on the way to practice. Thankfully, #2's emergency kit with his inhaler and epi-pen were fine as well as my phone and wallet but a few other things got waterlogged.
In our collection (that will be retired sooner than later), we have one bottle that doesn't leak. And that would be our Refresh2go bottle. With both boys playing soccer and football (and the seasons run parallel), we need to have a rotation of water bottles in the fridge to grab on the run. Top that off with neither wanting milk service this year at school so water with their packed lunches it is!
Refresh2go is a Chicago based company owned by a mom so I like the idea of supporting another mom in business, in addition to the non-leak factor. The bottles come in various sizes (we have the Curve which is 26oz) and most fit into the standard size cup holder in a car or a backpack side pocket which is exactly what we need. They also come with a filter which is a huge plus since we live in a 1940's Cape Cod and still have the original pipes. You definitely notice the taste difference between filtered and non filtered water.
I love the design, the price point ($7.99 for the Curve pictured above) and the fact that if my kids bypass the pitcher of filtered water in the fridge to fill a bottle up and go straight for the kitchen faucet, they will still get clean, filtered water. They also hold up to the tossing around that kids do with their backpacks with everything in them. Each filter will filter up to 40 gallons of water so it's much more cost effective and eco-friendly to have a water bottle that meets the needs of a busy family and won't add to the landfill of disposable bottles.
Right now, Refresh2go is having a back to school promotion. 20% off all bottles and this runs until September 6th so it's the perfect time to stock up. Code: #btsrefresh at checkout.
Did I mention these bottles are brilliant because they don't leak?
Caveat: These are my own words. I did not receive any type of product or compensation from Refresh2Go.
